Description
The Ventura Harbor Lifeguard Station Number 3 is featured. I knew I wanted to photograph this scene with my monolens to take this photograph. The monolens is the original lens cameras used and it captures images in the style of pictorialism. Pictorialism is a style and movement in photography that took place in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Prior to this, photography was very straightforward and simply recorded images. But pictorialism turned photography into an art form where the photographer created images that could elicit an emotional response, rather than just recorded them. Pictorialism photographs usually do not have a sharp focus. I chose this lens because I love the vintage look it gives. This looks great as wall art, an iPhone case, a jigsaw puzzle, a coffee mug, a weekender tote bag, greeting cards, a carry-all pouch, and much more.
